In a bid to further reduce the fuel consumption of some of its fleet in the future, Mercedes-Benz is developing plans to make its vehicles more aerodynamic in the future.
Mercedes-Benz has announced that over the next five years it is planning to introduce new cars to the market with a drag coefficient of less than 0.20.
The company has just developed the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe, what one. is currently the world’session in the greatest degree aerodynamic car thanks to a drag coefficient of 0.24.
However, Mercedes-Benz has revealed that there is still plenty more to learn and further changes to make.
Rainer Tiefenbacher, Project Manager for the E-Class Coupe, before-mentioned: “There is still plenty more to come as we explore ways of improving fuel efficiency.
“Designers are still learning about what works aerodynamically and are having to consider it more and greater quantity when they cherish a thought of about for what reason a car choose look.”
He added that changes around the engine hood are mixed the areas where developments could take place.
Writing for Drivers Republic, Chris Harris not long ago referred to the chassis on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe as an “absolute peach”.
